report on hotel

We had previously stayed at the RIUDOR and RIO PARK and were familiar with the Regente having walked past it on numerous occasions. This was our first time staying at the Regente. We did not expect any unpleasant surprises nor did we get any, We were delighted with the standard of reception staff with their courtesy, helpfulness and good humour and we would be grateful if you would make them aware of this. On the negative side we were not happy with absence of supervision at pool side,. The pool area was dominated by a noisy. loud mouthed stag party, who spoiled most peoples attempts to have a peaceful sleep ,lie or read in the sun or just to have a quiet drink. We also had to witness your pool barman, Johnny, being verbally abused on a number of occasions by these louts. At no time did we see hotel management intervene or ask them to be quiet or to improve their behaviour, they behaved badly for the duration of their stay. I would also like to draw your attention to Resort Hoppa who dropped us off down the main road leaving us to cross a busy road with luggage, walk up the road an take a right hand turn up a hill trailing heavy suitcases. This for elderly people is too much to ask after a long and tiring journey. The coach was able to drop people off at numerous hotels around the old town which meant getting in and out of narrow difficult roads and streets but did not make an easy drop at your door. A few couples that we met will not be going back to the Regente, some were recovering from heart attacks,one from a stroke and one with dementia. These people were not fit for the final bit of their journey and could have had serious consequences. I appreciate that you are not responsible for Resort Hoppa but if they are having a negative effect on your business you may wish to ask why they are doing this.

Your review has been brought to the attention of the Hotel Manager and will be looked into.  It is entirely up to the various Transfer companies where they decide to do their drop offs/pick ups, the Hotel has no saying in the matter. Sometimes the Transfer companies put the drop offs/pick ups for several different hotels at just the one hotel because they are somewhat near by each other and that way reduce the amount of stops they do. The Hotel Manager is in the process with the Town Hall to try and get a special drop off/pick up just outside of the Hotel and that way try and make our Hotel more interesting for the Transfer companies to use as one of their many stops they do in Benidorm. We are pleased to learn that you found the reception staff to be very helpful and that you overall had a good stay here with us.  We hope this has not put you off and that we will be able to welcome you back again to the Regente.   Kind regards, Medplaya Guest Relations Benidorm

first visit

This was our first visit to this hotel but not the last. We found it to be very clean and comfortable with helpful staff. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sunbeds. We only stayed bed and breakfast but were very happy with the food

bastante bien

lo que destacaría del hotel es el personal tan atento y disponible y las instalaciones en general, recepción, piscina, sala de animación, comedor, buffete. Está todo perfecto. Mejoraría las habitaciones, para ser un hotel de 3 estrellas deberían de estar reformadas y las triples ser algo mayores. Por lo demás, lo recomedaría

4 days ok and then....

Firstly the maids were great, bar staff great, hotel clean, as usual and food always acceptable. I have stayed here 4 times before.The dining hall is run very well and Juan in reception is brilliant but...four days into our holiday we got the neighbours from hell. Loud music, door banging and loud voices. We told reception and were told they were not surprised, the guests looked rough. The first night we rang 99 they sent someone up and they told them to be quiet, that didnt last long. All night it was quiet, until 8 a.m. when the music started again, told reception again and went to breakfast and out for the day. The night before we left we got no sleep, loud voices and t.v. on from 4 a.m. until 8 a.m. Every time we went to ring 99 the noise abated. Receptions only response is to dial 99 and they write the room number on a piece of paper but these people needed dealt with. Is Medplaya policy to rely on pensioners to report unruly guests, surely when numerous reports are made they could have got the night guard to put the room on his patrol? The noise was present from the lift. They have a duty of care to provide a reasonable level of comfort to the guests and failed my wife and I. I wanted to email this privately to Medplaya but there was no reply on twitter or facebook regarding an email address. Bitterly disappointed.

Fabulous value

Stayed at this hotel for a short breakbed and breakfast Breakfast was good with plenty of choice,well cooked and hot. Room was comfortable and very clean. Bar prices were also reasonable .. Staff at the hotel are exceptional,especially reception who always had a friendly word as we passed.

Benidorm break

For last five years stayed in Rio Park. This hotel is lovely and friendly, good location and would definitely stay here and recommend it to anyone, just like Rio Park.

Spring break

Breakfast on day before leaving was not good.porridge too thick.scrambled egg was left too long before being replaced.

SUSPENSO EN LA ORGANIZACION DE ANIMACION

La estancia en general ha estado muy bien, pero en relación la animación hay que decir que estaba más dirigida a los ingleses que a los españoles y no me parece bien teniendo en cuenta que había mayoría de españoles y encima de edad bastante avanzada con lo cual la mayoría no entendía el ingles. En relación al mini disco lo mismo poneis a las 20:30 porque ya han cenado los ingleses y los demás niños que se fastidien porque si ibas al comedor después del minidisco no cenas ni tranquila ya que a las nueve y cuarto empiezan a recoger todo y parece que te estén presionando para acabar.
