Travelife, one of the UK’s most reliable certification agencies and a subsidiary of the British Travel Agents Association (ABTA) has evaluated several MedPlaya hotels: Hotel Flamingo, Rio Park, Riudor, Regente, Santa Monica, Esmeraldas, Pez Espada, Riviera and Bali awarding each of them with a Travelife Gold Sustainability Award.

This is a great achievement for MedPlaya, since a Travelife certification is difficult to obtain, as the evaluation criteria are strict; it takes into account the good management of the hotel, the commitment of the workers and the social and environmental impact. Only after years of experience, dedication, effort and investment it is possible to achieve a Travelife certification.

Six hotels renew certification and three earn it for the first time

Travelife certifications are given every two years or need to be renewed every two years. Currently, in 2017, MedPlaya has accumulated the figure of nine hotels with Travelife Gold certification, six of them have been renewed certifications (Hotel Rio Park, Riudor, Regente, Pez Espada, Riviera and Bali) and three have received the award for the first time (Hotel Flamingo, Santa Monica and Esmeraldas).

Travelife is a seal of guarantee, an international sustainability certification system for hotels, that ensures that hotels manage correctly their environmental impact as well as reduce their energy or water consumption and also support local people, business and culture.
