Located in the heart of Mijas Pueblo, in an old house and carpet shop on the calle Málaga, the town of Mijas will open the future museum (Contemporary Art Centre) which will house an important collection of Picasso ceramics, in summer 2013.
The most universal Málaga citizen, the painter Pablo Ruiz Picasso, will have exposed part of his artistic production very soon, in Mijas Pueblo, small town on the Costa del Sol.

The sculptural figures will be part of this important private collection, the collection  will include several pictures of the initial stage of Picasso and his lithographs.
The place chosen for this purpose is a building owned by the Mijas Town Hall located on the main street called calle Málaga. Specifically, this building housed a decade ago a private house and was a part of a store selling carpets and fabrics known as La Baraka. In total, almost 450 square meters of space will accommodate up to three exhibition halls, two permanent, in which will rotate the various works from the private collection and an occasional samples. Similarly, the old carpet store in  Mijas Pueblo will house a gift shop, a rooftop coffeehouse. The town will implement the necessary reforms to modernize the future cultural infrastructure.
