If you go to a Spanish bar, you will probably come across different types of alcoholic beverages: red, rosé and white wines, orujo, cava, etc. Within each type, there are several categories. For example, “Rioja” wines are those produced in that region with Tempranillo-type grapes. The “Reserva” and “Gran Reserva” categories are for wines over 1 or 3 years old, respectively.

Do you know sherry wines? They are globally valued for their aroma and flavour. If you have never tried them before, we strongly encourage you to do so. The most famous ones are “manzanilla” and “fino”, perfect to pair with a tapa of cured ham during your holidays in Spain.

If, on the other hand, you have some knowledge of Spanish wines, the best option is to show the waiter your preferences.
