Japanese culture and manga lovers will have in March an excellent opportunity to get together.

On March 23^rd and 24^th 2013, the third edition of the Manga Saloon of Alicante is due to be celebrated, and this year it will be focused on Japanese Culture (not only on the otaku subculture) and will count with the presence of the following Spanish Manga Artists:

– Noiry (‘Underdog’),
– Xian Nu Studio (‘ALL IN’, ‘Bakemono’ and collaborations in many other publications),
– Ninamo (in charge of CYCLIC★REDUNDANCY),
– and Angye Fernández (‘La Maldición’, ‘Catuxa La Bruja’, ‘Momotaro, el niño melocotón’) & Simon Brand (‘Gears’).

2014 Sign Contest

From the Organización Juvenil Alicante Otaku (Youths Organization Alicante Otaku) they are encouraging everyone to participate in the contest to create the Alicante Manga Saloon’s fourth edition’s sign, planned for 2014. All the works sent will be on exhibition on the 23^rd and 24^th March, and the winner will receive an economic endowment of 200 Euros. The deadline is on March 11^th.

Para-Para & Dance Contest

On Saturday 23rd at 11am you will be able to demonstrate your dancing skills in any of these categories.

Cosplay Contest

As we all know, there are people who like to attend to this type of events dressed up as their favorite Manga, Anime or videogames characters. For those who will do so, you will have the opportunity to participate individually or as a part of a group (between 2 and 6 members) in the Cosplay contest (upon registration on http://www.smalicante.com/), which will take place at 12pm on Saturday 23rd.

There will be different kind of tickets to the Pabellón 1 (Pavilion 1) of the Alicante Trade Fair, which will host the III Manga Saloon of Alicante.

1-Day Entry

Early-Entry: 4.50 Euros
At Box-office: 5.50 Euros

2-Days Entry

Early-Entry: 7.5 Euros
At Box-office:  9 Euros

On the other hand, for those who would like to camp on Saturday 23^rd to stay overnight at the Pavilion 2 of IFA (Trade Fair of Alicante) and enjoy of a movie screening, it is possible for just 8 Euros per person. This option is only available to people over 14 years-old, and sleeping bags or tents will be allowed (although these last ones may not nailed to the floor). The movies are still pending to be determined.

IFA is situated on the N-340 highway of Alicante-Elche, Km. 731, between the cities of Elche and Alicante, next to the”El Altet” International Airport. The Access to IFA is direct from the Autovia del Mediterraneo A-7 (Highway), Alicante-Murcia, exit no. 72.
