1. Visit the Balcony of the Mediterranean

Benidorm is a city that offers kilometres of beaches of fine golden sand, crystal clear water and more than 3,000 hours of sunshine.

Levante Beach is one of the best-known urban beaches in the city and in all of Europe. It is more than 2 kilometres long that run between Punta Pinet and Punta Canfali and is ideal for relaxing or doing water sports. On the other hand, Poniente Beach, 3 kilometres long and with crystal clear blue waters, located on the other side of the Balcón del Mediterráneo, is quieter and more familiar.

Also, if you prefer something more private, you have two beautiful coves. The first, Cala del Tío Ximo, is one of the most remote coves in the area. It is a small cove of 60 meters in length that is located at the foot of Sierra Helada and is an ideal place to practice snorkelling thanks to its marine fauna. The second is La Cala Almadrava, 100 meters long and made of sand and stones. A perfect place to disconnect with nature.

6. Approach the Island of Benidorm

2.5 nautical miles from the port we find the Island of Benidorm or l’Illa as the locals call it. It is a triangle-shaped rock formation that has a cliff about 70 meters high where its lighthouses were located in the past. Today it is considered a paradise for divers and fishermen due to the richness of its seabed, and various excursions are organized. You can come by boat, kayak or speedboat and enjoy a meal in its only restaurant.

7. Go up to the Cruz de Benidorm viewpoint

If you want to capture the best views of the city, the Cruz de Benidorm viewpoint is your place. It is located at an altitude of 217 meters, at the top of the Serra Gelada Natural Park, and is one of the most magical points in the city of Alicante, from where you can see spectacular panoramic views of the city, the coast and its mountains. 

8. Wander through the old town

Of course, you cannot visit Benidorm without taking a walk through the old town: not all are skyscrapers and bars in this city on the Costa Blanca. Some recommended stops are: the Parish of San Jaime and Santa Ana, Plaza del Torrejo, Plaza de la Señoría or Plaza Castelar.
